If you regularly attend a youth group it’s more than likely you’ve heard of Rob Bell before. Maybe you’ve seen his popular NOOMA videos or read some of his books - or at least know of someone who has. I’ve heard quite a few people speak well of one book in particular, called, “Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith.”

Do that to this book.” And so, I hope and encourage anyone who is familiar with Rob Bell - especially those who have read this book - to take the time to read this following review written by Mark Sohmer - testing the teachings of Rob Bell, with the teachings of the Scriptures, just as he has encouraged us to do.
Sohmer goes into great detail explaining a number of dangerous heretical errors found throughout “Velvet Elvis.” Errors such as: a wrong view of the Trinity, a wrong view of the exclusivity of Christianity, a wrong view of the state of mankind, a wrong gospel, a wrong view of Jesus’ purpose, and more. The fact that this book is so popular just goes to show either how subtle error can be, or how ignorant the youth are. Or maybe a little bit of both…
